Your challenge

Brief role objective:

Reporting into the Head of Client Communications, manage the firm’s client and investment communications, internal marketing communications, client engagement strategy and development of marketing materials.

Key responsibilities:

Investment communications

  • Work with the Head of Client Communications to deliver the firm’s external investment communications suite. This will involve developing strong working relations with the CIO, the Investment Research team, and the Senior Investment Copywriter to ensure the timely distribution of content. In addition, it will involve developing strong working relations with the Front Office to understand their requirements and to provide timely, tactical information to help educate, inform and update clients.
  • Lead on the secondary article for the firm’s weekly client communication, The Brief. Ensure the content is relevant to the firm’s client base, the article is well-written, factually and grammatically correct.

  • Contribue ideas for improvements based on internal feedback, CleverReach data, website traffic and the competitive environment.
  • Follow the firm’s regulatory and financial promotions approval process, working with the Compliance team to gain approval prior to the external distribution of any content.

Internal marketing communications

  • Lead on the firm’s intranet platform, MyLGT, assuming responsibility for content updates, new page generation and suggesting ideas for improvements and enhancements to employee engagement. 
  • Collaborate with Group Marketing on shared content opportunities, as well as leading on the firm’s contribution for Inhouseflash content. This will include attending the Group content calls, writing, editing and generating ideas.
  • Be the marketing lead for ad hoc Group projects requiring internal communications expertise, for example Great Place to Work. 

Client engagement

  • Work with the Head of Client Communications to deliver the firm’s external client communications. This could include contributing to the development and execution of client surveys and focus groups, as well as the creation of ad hoc client letters or key updates.
  • Own the firm’s DDQ and RFP process, ensuring that information is up to date and accurate. Work with the business to support on producing RFPs, including reviewing content, editing and liaising with the external designer. 

Awards and sponsorships

  • Lead on the firm’s award strategy, including devising the approach to award entries to present to the Head of Marketing & Communications, maintaining an awards calendar, writing and submitting each award entry. Liaise with the firm’s external PR agency for input on the award strategy.

Marketing material

  • Develop new marketing material where required, for example brochures, reports etc, taking responsibility for copywriting, design and liaising with the appropriate internal stakeholders as well as the external designer.
  • Be the Consumer Duty champion for marketing, monitoring the marketing literature and communications, suggesting improvements and implementing changes from the testing process. Consider Consumer Duty across all marketing activities.

Your profile

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams & Word.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated and committed to meeting the needs of colleagues and clients.
  • Flexible; can handle a balance of tactical activities and more strategic priorities and react positively to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build and nurture personal relationships with a diverse range of personalities at a variety of different levels.
  • A proactive approach evidencing effective management and first-class communications.
  • Ability to plan own work and cope with periods of high workload and prioritise accordingly.
  • Ability to write reports and give professional presentations.
  • Good understanding of discretionary investment management and/or investment management environments an advantage. Includes key competition and wider market developments.
  • Experience within a communications role, or a marketing role with copywriting responsibilities, with experience working with Front Office professionals an advantage.
  • Degree or relevant industry qualification e.g. IMC or equivalent experience.
