Your challenge

Your Responsibilities  

  • Set standards by creating the design and implementation of high-quality, scalable solutions that align with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements. 

  • Drive architectural consistency across projects, establishing and maintaining industry-leading standards for design and development. 

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the core banking platform by providing technical leadership and guidance on complex challenges. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technology priorities. 

  • Manage platform stability, overseeing release processes and incident resolution to ensure seamless operations. 

  • Work with management to look ahead to future software engineering initiatives by incorporating emerging technologies into proof-of-concept designs. 

  • Optimise system processes by proactively identifying and addressing technical debt, enhancing reliability, and improving performance. 

  • Mentor and coach engineers across all levels, fostering growth, innovation, and a commitment to improving technical excellence. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders, driving alignment on key initiatives. 

  • Champion change management, cybersecurity, compliance, and governance practices, ensuring solutions meet stringent standards. 

  • Lead code audits, security reviews, and incident management activities to maintain operational integrity and reduce risks. 

  • Support the execution of mandatory business readiness activities with minimal impact on operations. 

  • Promote the company’s values by driving innovation, maintaining high standards, fostering trust, and encouraging teamwork. 

Your profile

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 

  • Certification as an Avaloq Certified Professional (ACP) is required. 

  • Agile certifications such as SAFe, CSM, or equivalent are highly desirable. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior engineering or leadership roles within

  • Extensive experience in software engineering, architecture, and technical leadership within the wealth management industry, with a strong understanding of complex products and services (e.g., portfolio management, trading, settlement, payments, lending). 

  • Deep expertise in Avaloq development, including parameterisation, customisations, and functional application support. 

  • Strong technical proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, AvaloqScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, TypeScript, and container technologies such as Kubernetes/OpenShift. Knowledge of Avaloq RMWP Parameterisation, Java, J2EE, JDBC, SOAP, JavaScript, and Ergon or similar Web Application Firewall, Elasticsearch/Kibana, OpenShift/Kubernetes or monitoring/alerting tools is a bonus.  

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex production environments, including incident resolution, release coordination, and system monitoring. 

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, including advocating for the use of tooling such as Confluence and Jira. 

  • Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and foster strong stakeholder relationships to achieve shared goals.
