At the "Ninth Annual WealthBriefing Swiss Awards 2022", the internationally recognized financial magazine "WealthBriefing" once again honored the best wealth managers and financial service providers in Switzerland. LGT Bank Switzerland received two awards at its first participation in the awards: Firstly, it was named best bank for "ESG" (Environmental, Social, Governance) for its excellent range of products and services and its efforts in the field of sustainable investments. Secondly, it prevailed over numerous competitors as the best foreign private bank in Switzerland.

Proven expertise in sustainable investing

LGT Bank Switzerland was able to convince the 11-member jury consisting of private bankers with its outstanding performance in both areas. In the "ESG" category, the jury members were particularly impressed by LGT's broad offering and proven expertise in sustainable investing. LGT also convinced the jury with its corporate commitment - for example, its pledge to reduce its net emissions to zero by 2030. "We have been integrating sustainability aspects into our investments for more than 15 years. With our many years of expertise, we can now show our clients transparently how sustainable their investments are and offer them attractive investments in firms that solve environmental or social challenges," explains Heinrich Henckel, CEO LGT Bank Switzerland. "We are delighted that our important efforts have been recognized. In its activities, our owner, the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, has always paid attention to creating optimal starting conditions for the next generation. We also pursue this thought when investing and as a firm."

A strong position in Switzerland

LGT Bank Switzerland's unique ownership structure, with its parent company in Liechtenstein and branches in Basel, Berne, Geneva, Lugano and Zurich, also set it apart from its competitors. With its strong presence in Switzerland, its comprehensive client offering and its convincing combination of wealth and investment management, LGT Bank Switzerland stood out as the best foreign private bank in Switzerland. In particular, the jury also positively highlighted its unique market positioning - the opportunity to invest jointly with the Liechtenstein Princely Family. "We have greatly expanded our presence in Switzerland, especially in the last ten years, and have more than doubled assets under management to nearly 50 billion Swiss francs. Based on LGT's values of respect, continuity and entrepreneurial thinking, we have become a long-term partner for our clients in wealth matters," says Heinrich Henckel, CEO LGT Bank Switzerland. "We are delighted that we have therefore been recognized as the best foreign private bank."
