Business Unit

The Custody Services Data Management team are responsible for processing client on-boarding and data update functions in accordance with the due diligence review, firm data requirements and those for products and pricing. The team are also responsible for providing support in delivering on the firm's data strategy by establishing and maintaining processes, controls, procedures and methodologies in line with agreed firm wide governance policies and standards.

Brief Role Objective:

The objective of this role is to fully understand the data the firm uses during its daily business activities, ensure the data is accurate and sufficient controls implemented to maintain the data integrity.

The individual must be a self-starter with a passion for data. They need to have excellent knowledge of the workings of a Data Team and an ability to put their ideas/vision into action. They will work closely with the Head of Custody Services Data, taking on additional responsibilities where required and supervise the team.

They will have responsibility for the quality of advice and administrative service provided to the business by their team. They will have an excellent understanding of the firm's core business functions and of the various departments and roles within.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the team by providing guidance, instructions and direction and cover for data update and maintenance
  • Improve processes and ways of working to benefit the business and its clients
  • Oversight of Firm data core processes and perform due diligence providing reports internally as required
  • Responsible for assuring the quality of all Firm data feeds (Product, pricing, EMT data etc.) into the core trading and settlement systems from  an operational perspective
  • Responsible for ensuring the completeness of operational data in support of operational activities
  • Implement and perform data quality check processes to mitigate risk
  • Responsible for the update and maintenance of operational control reference data and master data
  • Where necessary liaise with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high level of data accuracy
  • Assist the project/IT teams with testing data in regards to Figaro releases and upgrades
  • Build strong working relationships with the Front Office, Data team and other teams within the Custody Services department

Technical Requirements:

  • Competent in all MS Office products - especially Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize and analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information accurately
  • Knowledge of FNZ’s Figaro system is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Bloomberg and ICE
  • Data warehousing is desirable 

Other skills, competencies and attributes:

  • Wealth Management and Financial Services data experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, previous leadership, management and supervisory experience, and excellent time management abilities
  • Very strong conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities are critical
