Walter Giger became CEO of LGT Financial Services effective 1 January 2025. LGT Financial Services has been LGT Group’s centralised IT, Facility Management, Fund Services, Supply Management and Securities & Payment Services provider since 2001.
LGT Financial Services Ltd. (LGT FS) was founded under the direction of André Lagger in 2001. The company is the "backbone" of LGT Group, delivering a wide range of back office functions and IT services from under one roof. Since its foundation, LGT FS has grown from around 120 to over 600 employees. It has contributed significantly to LGT’s international expansion and ensured that innovative trends and important developments are exploited and implemented across the Group. André Lagger, who will retire in May 2025, handed over the operational leadership of LGT FS to his successor Walter Giger effective 1 January 2025.
Walter Giger has been Head Global IT at LGT and a member of LGT Financial Services’ Executive Board since 1 April 2023. Before joining LGT, he was Global CIO Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank from 2016 to 2020, and CIO International Private Bank & CIO EMEA at Deutsche Bank from 2020 to 2023. Prior to that, Walter Giger held various management positions at Credit Suisse for a period of more than ten years, and among other things, was responsible for IT services for the global securities and operations portfolio within Private Banking. Walter Giger has assumed the CEO role at LGT FS in addition to his role as Head Global IT, and is now also a member of LGT Private Banking’s Senior Management Board.
"We are delighted to have found such a competent and experienced leader for this important role. Walter Giger is very familiar with our company, our processes, our values and our goals. I am convinced that in addition to further developing LGT Financial Services, he and the entire staff will continue to make an important contribution to the success of LGT Private Banking", says Olivier de Perregaux, CEO LGT Private Banking.
