Your challenge

Brief Role Objective:

Reporting to the Lombard Lending and EAM Manager, the role holder will work closely with members of the team with the control of the firm’s off platform (EAM) activity. This includes managing key relationships both internally and externally, conducting regular reconciliations between our books and records and third parties, and also building out additional controls and processes as required. The role holder will also be expected to support a wider range of activity of the team, particularly around Lombard Lending activities which includes account opening and ensuring interest payments are made on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the relationship with Front Office, Operations and external parties in relation to EAM and alternative trading solutions
  • Assist in promoting the migration of EAM business into the custody of our parent bank
  • Support the firm’s Lombard Lending activities including account set up and loan repayments as required.
  • Responsible for managing the book of existing loans, including interest payments and loan maturities
  • Loan to value monitoring of lending with our parent bank
  • Reconciliation of stock and cash positions which are externally custodied. Ensure resolution of any breaks in a timely manner
  • Continually evaluate off platform trading with a view to make the operational process as automated as possible
  • Production and maintenance of policies, procedures and workflows relating to EAM and alternative trading solutions

Your profile

Technical Requirements:

  • Understanding of Wealth Management services and the industry as a whole gained through 3+ years in the industry.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle and associated areas within investment operations
  • Excellent communication skills to manage internal and external relationships
  • Capacity and willingness to develop knowledge across a variety of products and services to perform the role to a competent standard.
  • Technically minded with the ability to create new processes from scratch, such as analysis on service profitability and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience of reconciliation processes to the standards outlined in CASS 6 and 7 would be advantageous. Alternatively, the willingness to learn processes to this standard is essential.

  • Skill in prioritisation, planning, monitoring and self-management
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to generate new ideas/initiatives to promote efficiency or improve performance
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with a wide range of stakeholders from investment managers to technical experts

IT Skills

  • PC Literate
  • Excellent Microsoft product skills, especially Excel
  • Third party reconciliation software knowledge would be advantageous
  • Figaro (Trading System) knowledge would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of VBA would be advantageous
